Nick is a writer & creative director based in LA.
He began his career in publishing, wading through the “slush pile” of unsolicited manuscripts in the editorial department at Chronicle Books. After failing to unearth the next great American novel, he became one of the founding voices of Thrillist, scouring the San Francisco Bay Area on his motorcycle in search of the latest food, fashion, tech and events. After growing the subscriber base from zero to half a million, Nick sold the Kawasaki, moved to New York, and began practicing the dark arts of advertising. A decade plus into the business, his work has been recognized by the One Show, Art Directors Club, Effies, LIA, Clios, Webbys and Cannes, as well as featured in Buzzfeed, Mashable, Fast Company, Forbes, The Guardian, AdWeek & AdAge.
What Nick finds significantly more rewarding than any of that is helping creative teams lean into their wildest ideas. Today he does this both within agencies and brands. Nick currently lives in Mount Washington with his wife Marina, their canine son Sundae (aka Mr. Buns, pictured), and roving ensembles of operatic coyotes.
